Correct me if I'm wrong. It won't be the last time. I believe California started this with the passage of the Medical Malpractice Limit Act of 1975 which says the cap on damages be set at $250,000 and punitive can be up to 8x's the damage award if found to be grossly negligent. We really need to amend this law to allow for adjustments to inflation. It's no wonder there aren't any MM suits being filed. If the $250k were adjusted to inflation, and I can only find inflation $ to 2014, would be $1,100.000.00. I realize this site has a membership of only 5400+ people. I'm not an organizer by any means, so this probably won't go very far. Please share your stories(success and failures) and I will too. I am in the process of still trying to find a surgeon who sees my damage the way I do. We also need to fix this "discovery" time frame if we as "uneducated" are called educated enough to have made the discovery. I, myself, would not and have not, been able to fully help myself understand wholly what has happened and why so I consider myself unworthy to have "discovered" the evidence of MM. Thoughts?
