Chronic PainBy Charles

Chronic Pain is a full time job. Going to bed and waking up in pain is very difficult. Learning how to deal with this is hard, and accepting the fate that you are in now is mind boggling. How does one learn to cope? How does one learn to deal?

I have been dealing with chronic pain now for 2 years and 4 months. I have yet learned to cope. I do know the times that I have learned to accept, is the days I cry. It’s like mourning your past life in order to be able to prepare for your current one. It’s a long rough road to this point in life of chronic pain.

Put on top of this, dealing with a bad back. Going out to the kitchen to pour a glass of kool aid, and turning to walk back out to the kitchen, I turned wrong and was barely able to walk back to my couch. Being in level 10 pain for 24 hours straight is not fun. Turning wrong, that’s all it takes.   For me, walking any period of time makes me feel like a heavily crippled person. I have to start walking along the wall using my hands on the wall to keep me up and walking. Knowing at any time that my legs just want to give up. I have had times while I have been walking that I had to go to the ground, because I knew my legs were going out of under me. When I get to this point, I’m usually down for a few days in level 10 pain, and it can last up to 5-6 days. Just from one day of over doing it.
